Despite my moaning and groaning about deadlines and such, I still find time to take silly personality tests. Like Jennifer, I find them difficult to resist — though I don’t know why. Anywho, appropriately enough, I got the following:
Your Score: hyphen
You scored 46% Sociability and 58% Sophistication!

You are comfortable around others. While you don’t have to go out every night, yet you take pride in being easy to get along with. This should not, however, be misconstrued as believing (as many do) that you are without subtlety. In fact, you have the power to inform the anal retentive that, indeed, they are discussing an anal-retentive issue. Who else can do that? Quotation marks intimidate you a little bit.

Why appropriate? Just look back over my posts and you’ll notice quite a few hyphens. And that’s after a bit of rewriting. My tendency is to use them every other sentence or so.

Thanks soooo much for alerting me to this fascinating diversion. I’m guessing that nobody else my age is enticed by sites called ‘OkCupid’, or I’d never score in the 99th percentile. C’mon, baby boomers, give it a try. As for my punctuation … no surprise there.

Ross, I’m ahead of you. As much as I have been resisting for awhile now, I used to do a fair number of these silly little quizzes. Yesterday I did 3 and posted 2 of them.
But yes, our boomer status tends to skew the percentiles; or, so says the semicolon who really wanted to be an ellipsis.

Hi Kirsten,
Hey – I’m the sophisticated semicolon; everyone fears me.
That was a fun test.
