A few moments ago a post came over the JESSE listsev regarding a science blogger who has been asked to remove content she quoted from a journal published by Wiley. I don’t understand how the bits she used were not covered by fair use. She used only small portions of the article and said where the information came from.
If a journalist from the mainstream media published the exact same material in their newspaper, I highly doubt Wiley would have raised a fuss. However, Shelley was disagreeing with the popular press’s interpretation of the article. Makes you wonder.
